What Formatting Is Preserved?
- Text: Font family, size, bold, italic, underline, and color
- Paragraphs: Spacing, alignment, indentation, and bullets

- Headings: H1–H6 hierarchy mapped to Word styles
- Images: Embedded and positioned in the document
- Page layout: Margins, page size, and orientation
What May Not Convert Perfectly: Complex multi-column layouts, decorative fonts not installed on your system, PDF forms with interactive fields, and gradient or pattern backgrounds.

Converting PDFs with Complex Tables

- Use Word's Table Tools to fix any structural issues
- For very complex tables, it may be faster to recreate them manually in Word

Text appears as symbols or boxes
The PDF uses embedded fonts not available on your system. Install the missing font, or accept the substitution and manually change the font family in Word after conversion.
Images are missing from the Word file
Some PDFs have images embedded in a format Word can't directly import. Try opening the DOCX, then selecting Insert → Images to add them manually from the original PDF (screenshot approach).
Spacing looks different
PDF and Word handle spacing differently at a fundamental level. Minor spacing adjustments are normal — select all text (Ctrl+A) and adjust line spacing in Word's paragraph settings to restore the original look.
